Date: October 31, 2019 Author: Julie Fram-Greig Categories: News

Dear Parents

As we move into November, please note that the weather is changing and we go outside as often as possible, so please send your child dressed for the weather.

A huge thank you to the organizers of our “Course for Kindness” walkathon which raised close to $8000 for the Roots of Empathy program!  Thanks to Mr DeFranco and Mr DaSilva, Danielle Schami and Line Menard, and Wakefield Home and School for their time and energy to make this event such as success!  Thank you to Carrie Bradley and Sylvie Deneault for their gift card donations for prizes from La Toque and Ma Boule!  And a huge thank you to students and parents who collected donations- we appreciate your support.  We will send updates about the babies and the program as we go along.

We are already finishing up Term 1 and teachers are working on report cards.  Please note that for Term 1, parents will now have access to their child’s report cards online through the Parent Portal.  It is important that you set up an account if you have not already done so.  Register by following the step-by-step guide for parents which can be accessed at the following link:  www.westernquebec.ca/portalinstructions.  The school will not be printing report cards.

As well, we will be having Parent- Teacher Interviews on Nov 21 and 22nd.  Again this year, we will be using Signup Genius software to book these appointments on a first come, first served basis.  Instructions will follow.

Lastly, we have been reviewing our different emergency procedures with the students since school has started.  We have done two fire drills and next week we will be practicing the Lock Down drill with the Police Department again.
