Date: December 1, 2017 Author: Julie Fram-Greig Categories: News

FROM THE PRINCIPAL: Here we are in December already! We had a very successful set of ParentTeacher interviews once we got through the hiccups of the SignUp Genius! Should you have any further questions or concerns about your child, please be sure to contact your child’s teachers. We are happy to help.
As we close out the last few weeks of the year, on behalf of our Wakefield School family, we wish you a wonderful holiday with lots of family time together. Please take a look at our newsletter for all of the different events in the month of December. Lots of great things going on and times for parents to come in and share with us.
The virtue that we are focusing on for December is Understanding- in our assembly, we said that we can be more understanding in three simple steps:
1. Listen with open eyes, open ears and an open heart 2. Think about what you are hearing and seeing 3. Care about what you’ve learned Wishing you much love, happiness and peace this holiday season.

Once again this year we will be holding a Holiday Food Drive which will benefit many families in the community. Non-perishable food items can be left under our tree beginning December 1st.

HOLIDAY SALE This year, the WES Annual Holiday Sale will take place on Thursday December 21st during the school day. Each year, Wakefield Elementary School and WEHSA host a Holiday Sale in the school gym where students can purchase gifts for their family from a selection of nearly-new/previously loved items. Funds raised will be donated to the Guatemalan Daycare Project, Wakefield Emergency Fund and WES.

Here is how you can help:
– Donate gently used items for the sale (no clothing, no large items or no perishables
– Donate gift bags and wrapping items (tape, bows, gift tags/labels)
– Volunteer to help set-up the event on December 20th from 6PM to 9PM
– Volunteer on the day of the sale from 8AM to 2PM
(wrap gifts and help the students shop for items for their family)
Suggestions for DONATION ITEMS for the sale: toys, houseware, sporting goods, books, holiday decorations, etc. Items must be able to be carried home by students on bus.
Please drop off your donated items at the school between December 1st and December 20th. Please drop off your holiday wrapping donations in the WEHSA bin at the front of the school near the office. If you wish to volunteer for this event, please contact us at
