Principal’s Message- Nov 2, 2017

Date: November 2, 2017 Author: Julie Fram-Greig Categories: Principal's Message

FROM THE PRINCIPAL: With Term 1 finishing, report cards will be sent home this month and ParentTeacher interviews are coming up to discuss your child’s progress so far. These will be held by appointment in the Library with your child’s teaching team to discuss their progress. A letter will be sent home shortly outlining the process.
The Playground work is underway for the expansion of the upper area. The team has been working on clearing the area, levelling it with fill and fencing so that it will be ready for the play structures to be moved in the new year.
A “Howl Out” to Wakefield School for our two fundraising initiatives to support important causes: our Toonies for Terry campaign raised $437.35 to be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society, and the Me to We fundraiser to support victims in the Caribbean affected by Hurricane Irma raised $785 to be donated to Red Cross. Congratulations Wakefield Wolves!!
This year, we are continuing with our monthly assemblies to celebrate our school awards: Be Yourself, Better Yourself, Believe in Yourself and Leader of the Pack. We are also focusing on a monthly virtue that we will reinforce with classroom activities and bulletin board displays. For school spirit, we will also have spirit days throughout the year. The virtue for November is Showing Patience, and our assembly/spirit day is on Nov 30th- wear your bling and swag! Please check our website for a list of our spirit days and virtues.
A big thank-you goes out to WEHSA for organizing our Halloween activities on Tuesday.
