Student Behaviour
Wakefield Elementary is a TRIBES school. Tribes is a democratic group process striving to develop a positive environment that promotes human growth and learning for all – students, staff and parents. Our 4 Tribes Community Agreements are:

Behaviour at School and Daycare
We have high expectations of our students:
- Students will attend all classes on time.
- Students will be prepared for class with the appropriate materials
- Students will be honest with all staff and students.
- Students will show respect and follow direction from all school staff members.
- Students will respect the personal property of others as well as the school’s property.
- Students will show respect for others by not participating in teasing, intimidation, harassment, swearing, verbal and non-verbal threats, extortion or bullying.
- Students will not bring to school any weapon or any replica of a weapon for the purpose of threatening or intimidating any person.
- Students will follow a no physical abuse policy that includes no play fighting.
Inability to follow the expected behaviors could lead to the following consequences:
- Mediation with an adult
- Loss of recesses – time for reflection
- Parental contact
- Loss of privileges, such as noon hour sports, sports tournaments, trips and/or other special activities outside the classroom timetable.
- Removal from class
- In school suspension
- Out of school suspension
- Repair or replacement of damaged property
