FROM THE PRINCIPAL: We are heading in to the last weeks of the school year already. Thanks so much for a successful set of parent-teacher interviews at the end of November.
Please be sure to check the weather before the day starts so your child is prepared to go outside. For the holiday season, we will be collecting nonperishable food items for the local food bank to distribute in the community. Thanks in advance for your support to those in need.
The monthly virtue for December is Developing Empathy. We will be focusing on showing others that we care about them and understand how they are feeling.

CHOIR On December 7th our school choir will perform at the Wakefield Hospital. The choir will visit the Manoir on December 11th.
SKATING Thanks to a grant from the Municipality that provides bussing and ice time, our classes will be skating at the Masham Arena this month. The schedule is as follows:
December 12th: Cycle 2 (Grades 3+4) 9AM-11AM
December 14th: K4, K5 and Cycle 1 (Grade 1+2) 9AM-11AM
December 18th: Cycle 3 (Grades 5+6) 9AM-11AM
GOVERNING BOARD The next Governing Board meeting will take place on December 12th at 5:30pm in the library.
CARROLING Classes will be caroling the week of December 17th. Parents are invited to join in on December 21st. More details will follow.
HOLIDAY SALE Our Annual Holiday Sale will be on December 20th. Please see attached flyer for details.
SPIRIT DAY Our monthly assembly will be held on December21st- Our Spirit day theme will be “ugly holiday sweaters”!
FROM WEHSA The Wakefield Elementary Home and School Association would like to thank all the parents who came with their children to the Family Movie Night fundraiser on Friday. With your support we raised $605.00 for the school. We know that there were issues with the quality of the display and the sound. We will try to find solutions to these issues before planning a similar event in the future. We thank you again for your support.
LOST AND FOUND Items remaining in our lost and found will be collected and donated before the break. Please feel free to stop by and have a look for any lost items.
