FROM THE PRINCIPAL: We are fast approaching the end of Term 2. February is always a short but busy month with many activities going on. We will be having Parent- Teacher interviews again on the evening of February 22. The teachers have identified who they need to meet and will be contacting you for your scheduled time. Should you have any concerns, please contact your child’s teacher.
February 5-9th is Staff Appreciation week. This is the time of year where we can stop and say thank you to recognize all of the hard work that everyone at school does every day to support our students: caretakers, secretaries, teachers, daycare and aides. All of them play an important role in your child’s learning and life at school. At school, we will be doing something special every day this week to celebrate our wonderful staff and I invite you to do the same. A note, card, homemade gift, just a little something, is a great way to acknowledge these amazing professionals.
BUS SAFETY On Wednesday, February 7th a representative from the Outaouais bus company will be giving a bus safety presentation to all the students.

Term 2 ends on Friday, February 9th.

100’s DAY Friday, February 9th is 100’s Day! This is a celebration marking 100 days of school.

PD DAYS February 12th, 13th and 23rd are PD days. The daycare will remain open to those who have pre-registered. Please note that registration is officially closed.

Term 3 begins on Wednesday, February 14th.

VOLLEYBALL A team of Grade 6 students will be attending a Volleyball Tournament on Friday, February 16th at Chelsea Elementary.
GOVERNING BOARD The next Governing Board meeting takes place on Wednesday, February 21st at 5pm in the library.

BOOK FAIR We will be holding a French Scholastic Book Fair from February 21st-23rd in the multi-purpose room.

SPIRIT DAY Thursday, February 22nd is Spirit Day! Students can dress in red and white to celebrate Canada in the Olympics. There will also be an awards assembly.

PARENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS Interviews take place on February 22nd from 3:30pm-7pm. Interviews are by request of the teacher.

DESTINATION IMAGINATION DI is a competition for Grades 6-8 students where the team uses collaboration, problem solving and critical thinking skills to solve a problem that involves math, science, drama and art. The DI day is their time to present their solution to a group of judges and celebrate their hard work. A team of Grade 6 students will attend Destination Imagination On February 24th at Philemon Wright High School.

FLUORIDE TREATMENTS The CLSC dental hygienist will return on February 27th and 28th for the second round of fluoride treatments.

SKATING Classes will be skating on February 27th and 28th at the Masham Arena. We would like to thank the Municipality of La Peche for sponsoring the ice time and bus rentals. The schedule will be as follows: February 27th-Cycle 2 February 28th-Cycle 3 March 2nd-K4, K5 and Cycle 1 Permission forms will be sent home soon.

HOME AND SCHOOL The next Home and School meeting takes place on Wednesday, February 28th at 7pm.

Report cards will be sent home on Friday, March 2nd.

SPRING BREAK Spring break runs from Monday, March 5th through Friday, March 9th. The school and daycare will both be closed.
