Principal’s Message- October 2018

Date: October 10, 2018 Author: Julie Fram-Greig Categories: Principal's Message

We have finally settled into a nice routine here at school, and many activities have started up like hot lunch, choir, ukulele, intra mural bench ball and PALS (Playground Activity Leaders for Schools). Look for information coming out on I Heart my Art, guitar, violin and pizza hot lunch. Our official population count is 315 students. October progress reports will be coming out later in the month. This is a snapshot of your child’s academic progress thus far as well as their overall attitude to study in each subject area. Please contact your child’s teacher should you have any concerns.
This month is Fire Prevention month and we will be practicing the different drills to evacuate if there is an emergency, such as fire and lock down drills.
Our Terry Fox walk “toonies for Terry” raised $568!! Thank you so much for your contribution to this very important cause- all monies have been sent to the Canadian Cancer Society.
This month we are practicing the virtue of gratitude. In our monthly assembly, we talked about being grateful for the people we love and work with and ways to show gratitude. Gratitude is what we feel when we think about all the people, experiences and things that we have and say “thank you”! It is even more important to practice gratitude during tough times. We gave the students examples like saying thank you, doing acts of kindness, showing people we miss them, and taking care of each other. Thank you to all of you who contributed to our food drive for the victims of the tornado last month- we appreciate your support.
